Hi!

I'm Patrik and i decided to make a trip around the world on motorcycle.

I was born in March 1982 in eastern Switzerland, where I grew up..
After school and vocational training, I moved out of my parents' home and worked in the computer science sector in central Switzerland.

In 2009 I started to ride motorcycle. A wish that was there for a long time and has now been put into action.

My first machine was a Honda CBR 600 F from 2000.

TThousands of kilometers were made with this trusty machine. At the end of 2010, I founded a motorcycle group, the MotoBikersZentralschweiz, MBZS for short, with some of my co-riders.

In early 2012, the time came to say goodbye to the blue / red / white CBR and to ride another ... more fiery machine. The loyal CBR 600 F has been replaced by a Fireblade.

My second machine, a Honda CBR 1000 RR Fireblade HRC. A great machine. Also with her thousands of miles were maden. Faithful and reliable. Probably a feature of the house Honda. Unfortunately, the machine did not survive long. In August, an accident ended the life of my Fireblade.

2012 was also the year in which our moped group was new members and I was more involved in tour planning than the years before. Monthly there was a tour with the group. Every time in a different direction, every time a new adventure that thrilled the participants. During one of these trips, the idea arose to experience the world on a motorcycle. Far away from home, getting to know new countries and cultures.

Since the Fireblade was destroyed in the accident and I had already decided to make a trip around world, I needed a suitable motorcycle for such a trip. So I went in search. First, I was looking for a Honda, but unfortunately I didn't find anything suitable. After a few hours of searching I then found a Triumph Tiger 800XC that should be the motorcycle for for my rtw. I used the following two years to prepare for the big trip and to get used to the slightly different riding style with an enduro.

In May 2015, the journey started with the Tiger. Italy, Slovenia, Croatia and so on went well. Then in Turkey the first problem. A few hundred meters from the border to Georgia, nothing worked. A start was no longer possible. It went back to Ankara to the next Triumph dealer. Diagnosis: Starter broken. After the repair the journey went on to have the next problem in Georgia, clutch problems. A further journey to Kazakhstan was no longer possible, so I went back to Switzerland passing through Russia and the Baltic States.
The travel time was not over yet. With a backpack I visited Japan, China, Malaysia and Australia.

Back in Switzerland, the Tigers was repaired and sold. A new bike was needed. Since another long-term trip was not possible at the time for financial reasons, I looked for a motorcycle to have fun in the Swiss mountains. Again, a motorcycle was not found immediately. But then came an offer to which one could not say no: an almost new Honda CBR 1000 SP.

The dream of a motorcycle rtw had not died. Knowing that Honda was building a new Africa Twin, the decision for the next travel bike was easy. Just wait until the necessary accessories are on the market and the first experience reports are available. In 2018 the Honda Africa Twin Adventure Sports became a new family member and was upgraded for the big trip.

In what form the journey will continue, whether in one piece or in stages, the future will show.
